I am pleased to to introduce go-mysql
, a major update to the lightweight framework for building MySQL-compatible servers in Go. This release marks a significant step forward, offering enhanced independence, improved extensibility, and better compatibility for developers.
go-mysql
V1.1 simplifies the development process by handling system commands automatically. Developers can focus on implementing custom logic for DDL and DML queries using the frameworkâs customizable SQL executors and built-in authentication handlers.
With V1.1, go-mysql no longer relies on the Vitess framework. The protocol layer and SQL parser have been independently implemented, resulting in a more modular and lightweight framework. This redesign also includes enhanced support for both MySQL and MariaDB protocols, ensuring a seamless experience when developing custom database servers.
The SQL parser in V1.1 is now based on the go-sqlparser
library. Fully compliant with SQL92 standards, it enables developers to handle a wider range of SQL queries while maintaining reliability and performance.
In addition, go-postgresql
has been updated to version V1.6. This update unifies the SQL query handling components between go-mysql
and go-postgresql
, allowing developers to leverage shared logic and a consistent API across both frameworks.
This release delivers better performance, greater flexibility, and a streamlined development experience. To get started, visit the official GitHub repository and explore the documentation and examples provided.
We look forward to seeing what you build with go-mysql
V1.1!
